Signs of Spring

This has been a difficult year for me to judge the seasons. I was surprised at how late fall came to Kentucky, with leaves not really turning until November. So it's really no surprise that I'm having a difficult time judging Spring either.

Temps here have been in the 30s and 40s, which compared to Iowa is SCORCHING! We have 4 inches of snow last weekend, but it's almost gone. The kids and I made a snowman complete with carrot nose & a bandanna! I didn't get pics because of a dead camera battery. I couldn't get pics either because the darn thing had all but melted by the next afternoon!

So, is this normal for Kentucky? Will it get cold again? How long does this last? I dunno!

I do know that starting in about 3 weeks my poor daughter won't have to get on the bus in the dark. This morning (according to her), she stood by the curb, the bus stopped, didn't open the doors, and pulled away without her. She claimed it was because of her new haircut. Remarkably shorter? yes Indistinguishable? no My only guess is that the bus driver didn't see her in the dark! There is just barely daylight when she gets on at 7:20. Sad, really!

So, I'm hoping that the warmer temps and lengthening days will mean Spring in Kentucky - but who knows!! I'm all confused!
