We thought when we left Ill., we'd leave behind snow, too. We were told that Ky. mostly gets ice. Well, we haven't seen any ice and we are working on our 3rd consecutive day of snow! I think the kids have missed 5 days of school this year (WAY more than they ever missed in Ill. and even a little high for a typical Ia. winter). Now, part of this is due to canceling school for snow crazy reasons, but still!Last week the kids went out and build a snowman out of snow chunks the snowplow left behind. It was lots of fun watching them pick up giant chunks and carry them to Hunter, the designated stacker. They have all had lots of fun with the weather!
Garrett heard yesterday that every state except Hawaii has snow! What craziness - so much for an early spring! I am lucky to be used to snow. There are southerners here that are truly lost! On our babysitters road I watched a mini-van get pushed up the hill yesterday. They either had bald tires (thank you Garrett and George for my new tires) or they had no idea how to drive in slick conditions. Then today at the bottom of that same hill a car had slipped through the intersection and into someones yard (inches from the telephone pole). And, I have to add, it was a guy - not a girl! :)
Maybe next year we can experience the "average" Ky. winter (that would be highs in the 40s). Until then, we'll just pretend we're in Ia. again!
A neve é muito legal. Quando muito neve pode atrapalhar. Brincar na neve deve ser muito divertido e também muito frio.
